Restoring McKegney Green
McKegney Green, created in 1977 was 40 years old. Representatives of the Tiburon Peninsula Soccer Club have been meeting with the Tiburon Town Council, outside consultants and interested parties since Spring 2015 to discuss the condition of the field and a potential project to update it. In Spring 2017, the Town Council approved a sand based sports field at a cost of $1.8 million, contingent upon $400,000 being raised by private users. TPSC organized this effort as TPSC would use the field approximately 445 hours a year once competed. McKegney is a town resource and scheduled field use is also shared with the Southern Marin Lacrosse Club.
Thanks to all of the generous donations, we had successfully raised the needed funds to begin the field restoration. Construction began in May of 2018.
In Memoriam of
Diana Bradley
Diana Bradley worked with TPSC to create the main watercolor for the McKegney Green restoration project.
Diana was a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and Water West. Her watercolors have been in the US Embassy Arts program, and, many international collections. The Ritz Carlton has purchased 5 of her watercolors of San Francisco. Diana's studio was located in Belvedere, CA.

About McKegney Green
What we know as McKegney Green today was initially part of the bay. It was created in 1963 with fill from the cut-through for the four lane portion of Tiburon Boulevard between Blackfield Drive and Trestle Glen. Originally all of Tiburon Boulevard was planned to be four lanes, but the town stopped the development and plans for the field and other parks along the bike path, the Old Rail Trail, were envisioned. McKegney Green was completed in 1977 and dedicated to Elizabeth McKegney, a Tiburon librarian for 22 years and her husband, parks commissioner, George McKegney, creating arguably one of the most beautiful fields for sports games and picnickers alike in the Bay Area.
